You can book a rental car to be at the airport for you.
To get from the airport to us is about 30 minutes: drive into Westport, down the main street and turn right at Brougham St which becomes the Karamea Highway - State Highway 67.

Driving Routes
If you're driving there's several beautiful ways to get to the Buller Region:
From Nelson/Golden Bay/Abel Tasman National Park take State Highway 6 south via Murchison and through the upper Buller Gorge to Westport. From Nelson driving time is just over 3 hours.
From the Glaciers and Greymouth via the beautiful Coast Road*** through Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes on State Highway 6 north to Westport (90 minutes approx.) and take the Karamea Highway 67 north to Ngakawau (20 minutes). Driving time from Franz Joseph to Westport three and a half hours.
***This is part of the Haast to Karamea West Coast highway rated by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten road trips in the world.
From Christchurch take either Arthurs Pass via State Highway 73 to the West Coast and Greymouth and then follow the directions from Greymouth, above: or drive to Kaikoura, for a spot of whale watching, then to Hanmer Springs for a day in the hot springs and then through the Lewis Pass on State Highway 7 to Reefton and highway 69 to Westport. Driving time from Kaikoura to Westport just under five hours.

Directions to Charming Creek
We are on the main road (State Highway 67). Watch for a village called Granity. Ngakawau is the next settlement - there is a sign. Watch for Hector Potteries on your right - we are just a couple of minutes further on - the last property before the park/sports ground - 24 Main Road.
